Sunday Talks, 7/29/12

In an unusual twist, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and former Justice Sandra Day O’Connor appear on this Sunday’s television talks shows — Scalia on “Fox News Sunday” and O’Connor on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

CBS also has Penn State President Rodney Erickson and a panel, including Sara Ganim of the Patriot-News and sportscaster Jim Rome, to discuss the sexual abuse scandal involving Jerry Sandusky.

Additionally, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz, also stops by.

ABC’s “This Week” has two top presidential campaign advisers — former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, now a senior adviser to President Barack Obama’s reelection campaign, and Kevin Madden, a senior adviser to Republican rival Mitt Romney.

And it previews Jonathan Karl’s interview with former Vice President Dick Cheney, his first since a heart transplant last March, which the network is rolling out in full on Monday.

CNN’s “State of the Union,” meanwhile, has Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) and Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.), a potential Romney running mate.

NBC’s “Meet the Press” is preempted this Sunday by the network’s coverage of the Olympic games, which officially kicked off Friday in London.
